Georges de la Tour, The Adoration of the Shepherds, c. 1645'Quare id faciam' is a bit I snagged, without much thought, from 2 lines of verse likely known to anyone who's had a little Latin in school. I borrowed it years ago, looking for a username no one else would want.
And it grew on me. Taken out of its context, it's altered — the tense blurs & its sense may allow, Why will I do it, or, Why will I make it? — suggestive and intertwining questions, as I take them.

Did you hear that for Christmas I got a composter and a copy of Wendell Berry's newest book. Unfortunately, I also got a sore throat. So, I am going to lie down on the sofa and read the Berry book.
Hey Mrs Irani — I see that you apparently had an especially nice holiday, with time away for you & Erik. You look happy! (I guess if you're going to have a cold, come to think of it, it's good to go into it in good spirits.)
So are we going to see photos of that composter going into service? : )
